The Curtain

Hello Lovelies,

The following combination of word and image symbolizes the epitome of summer and its easy livin' to me:

"The curtains blow back
and the wind ushers in the
soft light of morning."

Enjoy!

PLEASE, DON'T KISS ME

Hello Lovelies,

I've always liked this one... not sure I could have tea with her, more like.... Dry Martini, perhaps? This one? Rita Hayworth, of course!

PLEASE, DON'T KISS ME
Lyrics: Allan Roberts
Music: Dorothy Fisher

Please, don't kiss me ...
But if you kiss me, Don't take your lips away.
Please, don't hold me ...
But if you hold me, Don't take your arms away.
Comes the change in weather, Comes the change of heart;
Who knows when the rain will start?
So I beg you: Please, don't love me ...
But if you love me, Then don't take your lips or your arms or your love away.

Enjoy!

Tea with... Jim Jarmusch

Hello Lovelies!
You all know by now just how much I love tea but maybe you don't know enough about my love for indie movies. Oh yeah, I'm a crazy cinephile. And Jim sounds like a terrific guy to have tea with!

So below is a crazy dialogue about tea/coffee and the like that is taken from one of his movies, one that started as student project in 1983, and ended up as a full length feature in 2003. Enjoy your caffeine guys!

image source: Coffee and Cigarettes (2003)
GZA: Want some tea?

RZA: Yea, splash me.

GZA: It's all herbals, man. No caffeine.

RZA: That's what I'm talking about. No caffeine. Caffeine is ridiculous right now, man.

GZA: Tell me about it.

RZA: Caffeine leads to depression, makes you all irritable, have your heart beating fast. Faster heart rate, you know what I mean? And worse than anything, you drink that coffee, it gives you the shits, you know what I mean? So I try to stay away from that.

GZA: I'm off that shit, anyway.

RZA: Crisp and clean. No caffeine.

While Trying to Disappear

Hello Lovelies,

print by Olivia Jeffries, can be purchased here.

I stumbled upon a very ironic fact today: a few years back I had a crush on Olivia Jeffries' images and bought a work from her. It was called "Trying to Disappear".

Which is exactly what I've been busy doing since last november. Disappear. Not only from the internet, but IRL, too. I just don't want to be found by memebers of a family that I've discovered to be very toxic to me.

So I've disappeared quite successfully so far (but it's something that has to work on the long run, too). I just find it highly ironic that a few years back, when I was absolutely naive about the toxic qualities of my family, I was already... "trying to disappear", through the purchase of this beautiful print (see above).

Learning To Carefully Walk Again

Hello Lovelies,

This last winter has been a turmoil in my life, to say the least... So I had to stop blogging here very suddenly, without even having the time to say goodbye properly to all of you lovelies.

But anyway... Here I am again. Learning to slowly walk again. I took a stroll in the great outdoors the other day and here is the result:

And after all that walking, a nice cuppa was in order, of course!
