"Why?": My Illustration of a Poem by Fernando Pessoa.

Hello Lovelies!

From the "Why?" series - detail. Lipson (c) 2013.

Here is a mixed media (mostly ink on paper) series of illustrations I did some time ago to illustrate a favourite poem of mine, by Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa:

" À l'Univers j'apporte un nouvel Univers
parce que j'apporte à l'Univers l'Univers lui-même "

Pessoa ~ Le gardeur de troupeaux

Enjoy!

New Paintings & Doodles of the Day

Hello Lovelies!

one of my "moody" oil paintings. oil on canvas. Lipson (c) 2011. photo, my own.

I'm glad to tell you guys I have resumed my "Doodle of the day" personal challenge. It consists in doodling/drawing a small drawing, one per day, every day. You can see the one I did yesterday here, and the one I did today right here.

Insects, tea scenes, gingko leaves are to be expected in these series... ;-)

While uploading my doodle of the day to flickr today, I realized that I had mistakenly put some of my oil paintings in the wrong set! This is now corrected and you can see all of my moody oil paintings online. One of them is shown above.

Enjoy!

Latest TeaButterfly drawings...

Hello Lovelies!

So this time I'm really back home at last and happy to share with you the handmade postcards I drew while staying at the hospital. Here are the goodies:

"Steaming Teapot with Two Dragonflies" - by TeaButterfly - oct. '10

"Steaming Teapot with Orange-Winged Dragonfly" - by TeaButterfly - oct. '10

I used them both as postcards for friends, so these two won't appear in my Etsy shop (to re-open asap), but I still wanted to share them with you.

During my stay at the hospital, I also drew in different style, did some collages including dried leaves found in the marvelous garden you'll virtually tour with me tomorrow, and got inspired by Hungarian Fauvism, as I mentioned in a previous post... ;-)

So more goodies to come soon!

Tea With... Alice Melvin.

Hello Lovelies,

I first discovered the lovely art of Alice Melvin through the decor8 blog, which recently featured her. Then I had a thorough look at her website. Oh my! So many teapots, both contemporary and "mod"!

I love art that features tea and teapots, as you may have already noticed... So from now on, more artists and tea-related art to come on my blog, once a week. ;-)

Still Keen On Caterpillars... ;-)

Hello Lovelies!

photo found on www.jjjound.com

my own caterpillar, just drawn with a pencil:

Maybe this whole caterpillar thing began with the blue hookah-smoking Caterpillar in Alice in wonderland for me. Chilhood memories are so important!

Tea with Jjjjound.com

Hello lovelies!

Sorry For Not Blogging much this week! But I have reasons... Sometimes an artist can simply feel tired or blue (or both)...

Fortunately, I have visited the infamous jjjjound.com blog, and I've found plenty of inspiration there!

First, I sat down for a nice cup of tea, of course...

Then, I had a look at all those fab ateliers and artists' studios. I don't have one at the moment, only a table that doubles as my computer desk. But look for yourself:

Then, they were beautiful still lives of drawing material:

The blogger behind "jjjjound" has been strangely obsessed with bicycles lately...

I'm more into art and melancholy...

though I'm not letting that dark cloud invade my soul...

and make me say "I hate everybody" !

I'd rather look at the marvels of nature...

and simply... go back to drawing! Let's grab a blank page and doodle away!

or get into the thick of it and paint!

Talk soon,

-Vic

btw, I just found out that I'm 59% geek. This comes as no surprise, though.

Time For Play – no work allowed!

Hello Lovelies!

this original photograph was taken by me - all rights reserved.

Just like Holly from the lovely decor8 blog said today : this week-end is "time for play – no work allowed!" - I like that!

I plan to draw and doodle my heart away (that's not work, that's love, kids!) and also play the game of the TAO with friends on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday there will be a visit to "Fontaine de Vaucluse", in the great South of France (Europe), to come and see an usual source that springs only once a year, during this period of time! A very misty fountain it is, and I'm sure I'll enjoy the trip to it!

What lovely things will you be doing this Easter week-end? Relax? Gather with friends and family perhaps? Do tell!

Off to the Countryside for Two Days.

Hello Lovelies!

As I told you this past week-end, Sundays are my busiest days, while I usually take my Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays off. So here I go to the beautiful French countryside. Check out my photo, I call it "Lanscape with bed linens":

the original can be seen here. Photo by Vic Lipson. All rights reserved.

But don't worry, I'll keep doodling and drawing!
